November New Surgery opened by Mrs Gillian Shepherd, MP.

December Carols by Candlelight held in St Nicholas Church for the first time.

Autumn Alveva Quilters decide to mark the forthcoming millennium with a 'Millennium Quilt', to be hung in St Mary's.

Feltwell Museum opened to the public.
Mrs Charlotte Rolph reached the age of 100 on the 10th.

May

A dig by Norfolk Archealogical Unit finds a Bronze Age axehead in excellent condition.

21st Oct

Engraved cricket bat presented to Paul Garland, outgoing Chairman of Feltwell Cricket Club. Richard Brighton takes over as Chairman.  Ian Webb replaced David Stansbie as Secretary.  Roger Freeman replaced Kerry Howes as Captain.

1999

January

Feltwell History website officially launched at the Archaeological and Historical Society meeting.
February Feltwell orchestra started by Jane and Andy -------, two professional musicians who live in Lodge Road.
May Youth and Community Centre re-opened.  First meeting of newly formed Youth Club.
August Photographs of the village taken for the Millennium Photo Album.
26th Nov. St. Mary's Church Millennium floodlighting officially switched on.
December The first Church Festival of Light raised £306. The Norfolk Guide Choir performed in St Mary's and £200 was raised to help pay for the floodlights.
31st December Feltwell welcomed in the new millennium with private parties galore.   The 'Feltwell Village Millennium Photo Album' was completed.
