The road from Feltwell to Brandon crosses the Devil's Dyke which acts as boundary between the parishes of Feltwell and Weeting. The Dyke runs from the river at Weeting across country to Narborough, a distance of about 17 miles. As to its origin, no satisfactory explanation has yet been given.

The Devil seems at one time to have been somewhat busy in South-West Norfolk. There is the Devil's Dyke running between Feltwell and Weeting. At Croxton, near Thetford, is the Devil's Punch Bowl, over which on a damp autumn evening can occasionally be seen a circlet of mist known as the Devil's Nightcap. At Garboldisham, a few miles beyond Croxton, is the Devil's Ditch. The Mound at Thetford has also been connected with the Devil. When looking at the Mound and unable to explain its origin, people have attributed it to the work of the Devil and said that he scraped his shoes at Thetford after he had finished digging the Dyke.
